Florida's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC is meeting in Jacksonville on Feb. 4-5 at the Hyatt Regency at 225 E. Coastline Dr.
Sessions on Wednesday and Thursday convene at 8:30 a.m., and the FWC invites to public to participate in speaking opportunities on a variety of subjects including: (Feb. 4) Creating a Florida Sportsmen’s Conservation Association annual award; discussions on current Florida black bear management and possible future action; increasing hunting opportunities throughout Florida and voting on establishing Deer Management Units. (Feb 5) Topics include consideration of a resolution establishing Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day; discussion of Federal marine fishery management council reports; Discussion of a draft rule setting the Gulf red snapper season for this year.
